Treating Both The Terrain & Infection

At Life Health and Research Center, based on many years of clinical experience, we hold steady to the understanding that diseases have as much to do with the terrain as they do with their triggers, and that shifting the terrain, healing the body as a whole is key in addressing chronic illnesses such as Lyme.

Many of the Lyme Disease patients that come to Life Health and Research Center with chronic Lyme Disease and associated coinfections complain of “strange” symptoms or “unexplainable” feelings throughout their body that their conventional doctor could not explain or diagnose.

This third body of scientific evidence brings the reader around to a question that we based our Lyme Disease treatment protocols off of, and the most profound historical dilemma in modern medicine: the Bechamp-Pasteur debate, the germ or the terrain theory of disease.

While our protocols include effective and non-toxic antimicrobial treatments, our main focus is in addressing chronic Lyme Disease as an autoimmune disease to create a shift in the patient which does not welcome the chronic illness anymore; striving to get the patient in their healing path to a normal and thriving life.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of education in the conventional medical community, many patients report being diagnosed with “mental” or “psychological” problems, despite the battle raging by spirochete borrelia within their body.

Although a tick bite is an important clue for diagnosis, often times our patients don’t recall ever being bit by a tick. This is not surprising because ticks are tiny and their bites are usually painless.

A significant problem with Lyme Disease is it is insidious, such that it can lie dormant in your body for several years before being suddenly triggered by stress or another illness. Mainstream medicine has had difficulty identifying the connection of your symptoms to a particular cause. Only about a third of those bitten by a tick show a bulls-eye rash, and those that do are treated with antibiotics that have lasting side-effects and don’t always eradicate the disease, thus leaving diagnosis and treatment mediocre at best.

In the past, research has indicated that you contract Lyme Disease solely through the bite of a dear tick. Although controversial, it has been suggested that Lyme Disease may be spread person to person, whether sexually transmitted or from mother to fetus. There are many known cases of entire families having Lyme Disease, again indicating an alternate source of infection.

Additionally, although the CDC has made notable strides to understand Lyme Disease better, the data given is a shortsighted perception of the true extent of this disease and its long-term ramifications. The CDC has also been unable to isolate all the ways the infection can spread, including evidence showing the possibility of person-to-person contact.

Testing for Lyme disease through traditional methods, especially laboratory means, has been suspect at best. In the past, lab tests have been incorrectly reported to be 70% effective at identifying the disease. However, recent reports from the CDC indicate reported cases of Lyme disease have multiplied by over a thousand percent in the US (from 34,000 reported cases to over 334,000 cases) just in the past decade, and this may even be a substantial underestimate. This means the specificity of that test has been significantly reduced; and may now be as inadequate or inaccurate as 20% positive while missing as many as 80% of the cases.

Lyme Disease is often complicated to identify or diagnose due to the vast symptomology that can and usually does occur. Lyme Disease mimics 300 different symptoms and diseases that are relative to other diagnoses. Generally, this leaves you grasping for answers as to what is causing your vast symptoms, pain, and discomfort. The four most common symptoms of Lyme Disease are:

  • Joint Pain
There are two types of joint pain associated with Lyme disease. One is superficial orthopedic pain, usually located in the larger joints like hips and knees. The other is more difficult to assess and treat where the microbes and associated immune reactions are situated in the connective tissue of the joints. You may get vague dispersed pain syndromes, which are usually classified as arthritic conditions such as chronic pain syndrome or fibromyalgia.
  • Immune System Dysfunction
When microbes are present in the body, we often see a variety of immunological responses usually in the way of autoimmune conditions due to unresponsive to antibiotic and prescription drug use. Often chronic conditions are “set-off” by a stressful event or time in a person’s life, which inevitably lowers the immune system response and allows the microbes to gain momentum. For the first time, symptoms become evident or more pronounced. In some patients, we can note that immune deficiencies manifest themselves through chronic bacterial and viral infections or an inability to heal or recover properly.
  • Gastrointestinal or Gut Issues
Notorious for its abundance of GI disturbances, Lyme disease most often affects patients daily through a roller coaster of gut conditions. Everything from bloating and constipation to leaky gut and Crohn’s disease. What individuals don’t realize is that any level of gut dysfunction severely prohibits your body’s immune system, causing it to be sluggish or even ineffective. About 75% of our immune system is housed in the lining of our gut. Chronic GI issues like fit under the umbrella of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and others will often lead to a leaky gut situation where nutrition is not being absorbed, and bacteria are being “leaked” into the bloodstream. Often with Lyme Disease, we see specific organs being effected and getting sick with conditions such as pancreatitis diverticulitis and others. The first place to start when treating any condition is ALWAYS the gut.
  • Neurological Disorders
Possibly the most startling and hardest expression of Lyme disease is the decline in a variety of neurological functions. Again, the range can be broad and vast, making it increasingly difficult to perform daily activities as well as the development of severe conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS, and ALS. Very often, we hear of simple yet very debilitating complaints such as brain fog, difficulty remembering things, focusing, buzzing in the head, vision changes, and so forth. Absolutely, without hesitation, we see an enormous link between Lyme Disease and neurological disorders such as ADD, ADHD, and autism. Between the GI challenges and neurological variances in these patients, there is apparent reason to assess the possibility of Lyme Disease. As one of the most prevalent symptoms of Lyme, insomnia ranks in the top five. However, we generally consider this to be another form of the neurological disorder being caused by Lyme or its co-infections. As mentioned, the symptomology range is broad, including difficulty going to sleep, staying asleep, or feeling rested after long periods of sleep.

One of the most important protective mechanisms within the human body is the blood-brain barrier (BBB), a network of cells within our blood, given the specific task of protecting the brain from unwanted and harmful substances. Just think about the miraculous and divine structure of our body and the built-in “gate” to protect one of our most prized assets—truly spectacular.

One of the largest concerns with Lyme disease is the reality that Lyme bacteria and its co-infections can pass through and deconstruct the BBB causing intense neurological symptoms and even permanent damage. Some researchers have linked Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and MS to Lyme disease and consider lesions on the brain to be the evidence of spirochetes in the brain.

Although many Lyme protocols and treatments can be effective in supporting the brain and nerves to minimize the damage, hopefully, very few have the potential to repair the BBB, and even fewer treatments have any optimism towards reversing neurological damage.

Life Health Centers attributes much of its success with Lyme patients since we see significant evidence supporting the improvement and closure of the BBB. We see this through apparent changes in a person’s cognitive, emotional, and logical abilities, as well as increased memory and focus capabilities. Patients note increased ability to have more in-depth and more meaningful conversations, the ability to concentrate and stability with depression, anxiety, and other neurological conditions. Sleep improves dramatically, and the ability to dream is restored.

We also support years of research done on the effects of PEMF on nerve tissue, implying one of the only known modalities with the potential to repair and regenerate nerve tissue. This result is compounded when considering the BBB is improved and again doing its job to protect the brain. No longer is Neurological Lyme an issue for many of our patients.

Our treatments include whole-body hyperthermia, which helps by increasing the body temperature to detoxify the body from the bacteria.

This works in conjunction with the health pod, which provides patients with oxygen at higher concentrations to help the body fight off disease by increasing ATP and boosting the circulatory system.

Lyme Disease is perhaps the most missed or undiagnosed diseases that both patients and doctors face today. We at Life Health Centers understand the difficulties and limited treatment options you face. Look no further as we invite you to embark on unique treatments that will not only help your body fight bacteria and infection but rebuild your body’s entire system at the core, allowing you to regain your life.

Holistic Lyme Disease Therapies

There are many types of infections and co-infections caused by tick bites. Life Health and Research Center treats all infections and co-infections, and well versed in the treatment of patients with Chronic Lyme Disease.

The different infections are referred to by various names such as ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF), Lyme disease, Bartonella, Babesia, Masters’ disease, and borreliosis. It may be overwhelming when you hear all these various names, so these infections may simply be referred to as tick-borne illnesses.

Several different bacteria that are called Borrelia may cause this disease. In many ways, borreliosis is like syphilis. Both of the germs that cause syphilis and borreliosis are called spirochetes (spiral-shaped bacteria). Before penicillin was discovered, doctors called syphilis “a great imitator” because syphilis may imitate virtually any disease. Likewise, borreliosis often imitates other diseases. Borreliosis may cause almost any symptom and disease. Borrelia burgdorferi (tick-borne illness bacteria) may be in a spiral form (spirochete) with a cell wall (like a skin), a spiral form without a cell wall (L-form), or a cyst form. The cyst form is microscopic in size, not like a cyst under the skin.

When the initial bacterial infection occurs after a tick bite, you may develop a rash and experience a flu-like illness. Usually, the rash is a red ring resembling a bulls-eye, but occasionally the rash may be red all the way across. The proper name of the borreliosis rash is erythema migrans. Erythema means red and migrants mean the rash migrates or enlarges.

TICK-BORNE ILLNESS SYMPTOMS

Patients with a chronic infection often have a large number of symptoms. Most commonly they have pain, tiredness, brain or thinking problems, vision, and/or neurological (nerve) problems. In addition to their symptoms, patients often have hypercoagulation (thrombophilia), hormone insufficiencies (endocrinopathies), toxic metal elevations, inhalant allergies and may have chemical sensitivities, plus many other diseases such as multiple sclerosis.

Tiredness or fatigue is the second most common symptom. Oftentimes, this tiredness has been diagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome. It may be so severe that the fatigue is described as complete exhaustion. Unfortunately, many are so tired that they lose their jobs and are unable to help around the home.

The third most common symptom is the brain or cognitive issues. If you suffer from a tick-borne illness, you may experience general brain problems such a “brain fog” and/or you may struggle cognitively with the ability to concentrate or think. Symptoms often include memory loss, decreased mental concentration, mood swings, and irritability. If patients have Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria in their brains, they may have depression, anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar (manic depressive) disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), paranoia, attention deficit disorder (ADD, ADHD), schizophrenia (psychotic), seizures, pseudoseizures, coma, dementia, multiple sclerosis, tremors, shaking (Parkinson’s-like) and other brain problems.

Vision problems are the fourth most common symptom. These symptoms typically include blurry vision, eye floaters, eye pain, pressure behind the eyes, light sensitivity, flashing lights, plus dry or teary eyes.

There are some patients that experience neurological problems. Neurological borreliosis is also known as neuroborreliosis. You may experience numbness, tingling, burning, twitching, jerking, and muscle weakness. Other symptoms may include seizures, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, encephalitis, meningitis, stroke, and dementia.

Patients often use words like “strange” or “weird” in describing their illness. It is common for patients to have been to a good doctor or many doctors with the cause of their symptoms or disease to still be unknown. Due to the extensive and varied symptoms that tick-borne illnesses cause, it is not uncommon for patients to be misdiagnosed before coming to seeking Lyme Disease treatment at Life Health.

Orchestra of Modalities

At Life Health, we believe that when treating Lyme Disease and Cancer, we need to look at the cancer cell or spirochete on a molecular level. Per cellular biology, there are similarities between both of these cells that mother nature has hidden in cellular biology to give us clues on how to treat them based on the chemistry, physics, and biology of environment that we know cancer cells and spirochetes thrive in.

Instead of focusing on stressing a cancer cell or spirochetes on one plane of stress with a point load such as thermal stress with hyperthermia and requiring a temperature that may damage brain cells, our protocol stresses cells on a variety of planes to create a synergetic effect that requires a lower temperature during hyperthermia to produce the same hostile environment to target cancer cells and spirochetes.

Due to our specifically designed suit and the incorporation of PEMF technology as well as Hyper-oxygenation, we are able to reach resounding effects at lower body temperatures than previously used; this is good news for our patients who are not required to be sedated and are at minimal risk.

We manage a very specific balance with heat; making sure to empower healthy cells and organisms while eliminating diseased cells and organisms—again, one of the advantages of our patented technology.

When presented as concert therapy timed with precision and sequentially managed, these modalities bring about refinements in enzyme reactions that trigger cell hypoxemia and instigate a metabolic process in the body of restoring healthy cell growth. These molecular actions begin immediately once treatment starts, stressing viruses and anaerobic cells through various mechanisms while increasing immune system performance.

Whole Body Hyperthermia

One of the basic ways our body fights disease naturally is to increase its core temperature through a fever. When the body’s intelligence senses cellular danger or imposition it goes to war through an inflammatory response which sends healing cells like cytokines to the affected area or throughout the entire body; causing heat, redness, and inflammation to an area (like in the case of a sliver) or fever, body aches, chills, etc. (in the case of a virus). This is a perfect way of knowing our body is doing its job and we are on the road to wellness.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF)

At the body’s molecular level, each atom contains outer electrons (valence electrons) that roughly orbit the nucleus in varying paths. An external electromagnetic pulse gives the valence electrons a shove intensifying their action which consequently enhances and improves molecular action.

By influencing the electrons’ orbital trajectory, this effect on the cells greatly increases their chemical reactions. The body can then produce more ATP that gives the necessary energy to the cell enabling the cell to function at a higher capacity.

Enzyme Exercise

Enzymes are essential components in your body that work to help your body heal, metabolize, provide energy to cells, and keep your brain functioning at its best. However, enzyme levels can sometimes fall, due to illness, as a symptom of another condition, or other factors.

With exercise, you are able to raise your enzyme levels to compensate for the workout, which according to many studies have the ability to cause an anti-oxidizing effect on your body, as well as improving digestion and other important bodily functions.

IV Therapy

IV Therapy is used to deliver nutrients, minerals, and other substances directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract, which is commonly compromised with leaky gut and gut toxicity in many immunocompromised patients.

With leaky gut, even if you are eating the most healthy organic, whole foods autoimmune Paleolithic diet, or even a 100% plant-based vegan diet, you most likely are not assimilating all the nutrients. It’s a myth that everything we eat we assimilate into our cells to help us make hormones, neurotransmitters, and aid our mitochondria (the powerhouse engine of all our cells) make ATP, which is cellular energy.

Lymphatic Drainage

Per Newton's 2nd Law of Motion, weight is defined as the function of mass times acceleration. At the apogee of a jump, a person is, for a split second, weightless. When that person lands, he/she weighs more than normal (try jumping on a set of scales to verify this).

Vertical vibration of a plate on which you stand duplicates this phenomenon many times a second. Different vibration frequencies affect different parts of the body. But all vibrations affect the lymphatic system, causing lymphatic irrigation, and all the body’s cell walls react positively to the flexing of the cell walls caused by the alternating weightlessness and increased weight.

When blood is thin and fat has changed, now is the time to move carnage and chemicals out of the body.  We create this response artificially — all within natural physiological dynamics.

Oxygen Therapy

Cancer cells and spirochetes are anaerobes, which means they tolerate only low levels of oxygen and do not thrive in hyperoxygenated environments.

Oxygen therapy is designed to penetrate the body’s cellular pathways in a way that accelerates intra-cellular activity at levels that have not previously been possible. Diseased cells cannot live in an oxygen-rich environment.

Hyperthermia is defined as a temperature elevation by several degrees above the normal physiological level. Hyperthermia treatment is not new—in fact, it’s very old, as old as Socrates, and has been established as a great tool for fighting disease.

Currently, there are several ways medicine uses heat to handle varying conditions. However, none of them are as effective as heating the whole body and holding the core temperature at increased levels for an extended period of time.

When considering hyperthermia and its effects on cancer cells we can simply look at the cancer cell’s ability to tolerate high temperatures. While this may seem like a simple solution to a devastating diagnosis, the impacts are mass and not to be taken lightly.

A normal cell has roughly 36 ATP (the energy producers in a cell). A cancer cell has roughly 7, making its ability to survive much more dependent on what it eats (sugar) as well as its environment. When seduced into high temperatures a cancer cell is inflicted with the inability to create enough energy (ATP) to stay alive; meanwhile, a healthy cell not only manages to stay intact but actually thrives producing enzymes, heat shock proteins and nitric oxide which have a myriad of positive effects on the system. Not only does this engage the immune system but it deposits “chemicals” into the system that can literally change your DNA.

When considering hyperthermia and its effects on Lyme we focus more on what the hyperthermia treatment is inducing in the body. Lyme is known as a condition that alters DNA wreaking havoc on literally every system in the body.

But first, just as with cancer, in order for Lyme to become the major problem for an individual, we must agree that the immune system at the time of the invasion was depleted and not working at 100%.

Therefore, focus on repairing and rebuilding the immune system is paramount to any chosen treatment and hyperthermia provides the environment in the body to activate and engage the immune system.

By heating/thinning the blood, circulation is increased flooding organs and tissues causing interstitial fluid to reach the surface of the skin where it makes an attempt to avert the heat through sweating.

When the body is denied this ability (due to the hyperthermia suit technology) the body is forced to produce enzymes, heat shock proteins, and nitric oxide, which have a myriad of positive effects on the system. It is the heat shock proteins, that when repaired and activated have the ability to repair damaged DNA caused by Lyme bacterium.

An additional benefit to Lyme patients via hyperthermia is its effect on biofilms. Biofilms can be equally difficult to treat and also create a huge amount of toxicity in the blood. Hyperthermia, through thinning the blood naturally and mobilizing toxins, allows for biofilm to be eliminated properly and without side-effects such as hexing.

When an injury occurs, the body’s nervous system and cells that surround the nervous system navigate a negative electromagnetic field at the site of injury for healing. It must maintain the negative magnetic field in order for healing to occur.

A negative magnetic field is alkalizing. We have to have the alkalinized area for healing to occur because you cannot have oxygen in an acidic medium. Most of the benefits associated with the pulse magnetic field will be enhanced while working within the static magnetic field.

Now, with the addition of PEMF technology built into the whole body hyperthermia system, we are able to generate stem cells and massively increase cellular communication affecting many areas of the body but most importantly for Lyme patients their nervous system and Blood-Brain Barrier.

Crucial to long-term success with Lyme disease is the effectiveness of the Blood-brain Barrier. PEMF has enormous amounts of research showing unequivocal results on repairing damaged nerve tissue (i.e., Lyme Brain).

The tri-action environment of a pulsed electric magnetic field (PEMF), while in an enriched oxygen environment and G-force, makes this protocol exciting and dynamic.”This medical treatment (modality) employs a superior additional new piece of alternative medical equipment.

The procedure is designed to penetrate the body’s cellular pathways in a way that accelerates intra-cellular activity at levels that have not previously been available to the public except in research trials. This state-of-the-art equipment allows us to increase cellular G-force.

The world’s awareness of this stimulating force along with PEMF came into focus through the research of our space programs. The acceleration of beneficial enzyme reactions is exponentially compounded when O2 (Oxygen) is infused into this modality.

Some of the benefits of Health Pod technology:

  • Increases ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) levels in the body. This is the source of the energy used to fight off disease.
  • Drives fluid to the lymph pathways by way of dynamic force changes (expels toxins).
  • Manipulates an increase in circulation, thus driving nutrients to the cells, expelling toxins, increasing antioxidants that neutralize free radicals, and stimulating cascading enzymic reactions.
  • Using a multitude of vibrational frequencies we are able to target specific tissues in the body; everything from gums and glands to the brain and nerves.
  • Increases and drives oxygen in the cells, tissues, and organs
  • Instigates waste movement out of the cells, tissues, and organs
  • Balances pH by increasing cellular alkalinity allowing for oxygen absorption
  • DNA repair
  • Releases chemical substrates that produce and activate enzymes and nitric oxide
  • Facilitates sodium and potassium ion exchange and communication in cells increasing their functionality and ability to repair and heal
  • Makes communication between the brain and body easier
  • Detoxing harmful metals
  • Target and eliminate microbes, bacteria, and parasites
  • Growth of new blood cells including the production of stem cells

Symptoms of Lyme Disease

With 100+ known symptoms of Chronic Lyme Disease, it is no wonder a diagnosis is difficult to make as countless symptoms overlap with more accepted diagnoses throughout the medical community.

If you can relate to having the symptoms listed below and you have possibly been exposed to infected ticks, then according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), you are clinically positive for Lyme Disease.

Laboratory testing is helping to validate this diagnosis, but since Lyme Disease is a clinical diagnosis, you can still consider yourself positive for Lyme Disease even if your test is negative.

Lyme Disease testing is very difficult as the lab results can return a false negative result in a person with a comprised immune system.

Lyme Disease Diagnosis

The average Lyme Disease patient will be misdiagnosed by 5-10 physicians with over 10+ diagnoses before they receive the final diagnosis of Lyme Disease to explain the symptoms they have been experiencing for years, and in many cases decades.

Life Health Research and Centers work with various lab testing companies specialized in the diagnosis of tick-borne disease, particularly Lyme Disease and co-infections, as well as the spectrum of chronic inflammation and possible immune defense disorders.

As the validity of the Borrelia test procedure is assessed differently worldwide, the testing results can vary greatly from laboratory to laboratory.

Lyme Disease is a complicated disease as it wreaks havoc on the person’s immune system, triggering a multitude of symptoms.

It is no wonder that patients often bounce from doctor to doctor with no relief of their symptoms after trying various treatments and symptoms of disease or conditions they most likely have never had.

"Although I was diagnosed with late-stage prostate disease, I felt there had to be a better alternative than surgery, chemotherapy and radiation — with their damaging side effects. And I wanted a treatment program that would allow me to keep the personal and professional commitments I had made, while still dedicating the necessary time to the treatments. LIFE Health Centers allowed me to do that. Their treatment protocols required a substantial time commitment, but they have left me feeling better than I had in years, not worse, and the education and support I have received from the staff are priceless. With their coaching, I am now living an active, healthy lifestyle that is the best protection against any recurrence.

Clive from Utah, Cancer Patient

"I have been suffering from Lyme Disease and a myriad of other issues for over five years. I have spent over $30,000 in search of treatments that would make a difference and get my life back. Although many of the treatments helped, I was still not 100% and not able to work full time. Finding the LIFE Health Centers was a dream come true, I am so grateful for their services and sincere desire to help each person get well."

Rikki from Washington, Lyme Disease Patient

"As Lymies know, we experience something most people are unable to grasp. Coming into Life Health Centers felt like meeting with family, which I had never felt at other clinics—it’s therapeutic. As time passed I started to see massive results neurologically, physically, and in other ways. When my father saw me for the first time since starting treatment, he began to cry. I’ve never seen him cry before, which shows how this disease and my results can break down walls and change relationships. I have seen more changes in three weeks here than in the last ten years combined. Sunshine has entered my life again.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Tickborne illnesses have seen an uptick in the number of new infections and diagnosed each year over the last 3 decades. Originally discovered nearly 30 years, Lyme Disease originates from the city of Lyme, CT, where the local population had a surge of infections and illnesses that doctors struggled to diagnose.

Since then, Lyme Disease has become the most undiagnosed and untreated epidemic of our times, with new cases reported in all 50 states in the United States and in a majority of all inhabited areas throughout the world.

While Lyme Disease is often attributed to tick bites, recent studies from the medical community have also shown that it may also be known to be transmitted by other insects such as mosquitoes, blood transfusions, and even gestationally during childbearing.

Lyme Disease is a bacterial infection caused by the spirochete, also known as “Borrelia Burgdorferi” which can also mimic a variety of other illnesses and autoimmune conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Lyme Disease is also referred to as the “Great Imitator” as it has been documented to mimic virtually any diseases, leading to a severe variance in the number of misdiagnoses, with the averaging Lyme Disease patient receiving numerous misdiagnoses before finally receiving a “Lyme Diagnosis”.

Lyme Disease is a serious condition affecting multiple areas of the body with symptoms appearing within 1-2 weeks of being exposed to the Borrelia Burgdorferi bacteria following a vector-borne exposure, typically in the form of a tick bite.

While it is well documented that following a tick bite, the infamous “Bulls-Eye” rash will appear as a round surrounding the bite, a majority of diagnosed Lyme patients do not recall a tick bite or ever getting the rash.

Since the infection varies and can manifest in over 100 different symptoms with no two people being the same, Lyme Disease is usually not even considered a viable diagnosis by most physicians.

Even if testing is performed, standing to test for Lyme Disease misses over 90% of Chronic Lyme Disease cases.

The standard testing method is an immunoassay test of IgG and IgM antibodies followed by a Western Blot test for confirmation. In addition, most doctors use the criteria outlined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to define/identify a positive test.

The problem with the CDC guidelines and their application to diagnoses is that the CDC criteria was never meant for diagnosis, it was meant for epidemiological surveillance (tracking).

We believe and rely heavily on the body’s intrinsic intelligence that will utilize natural resources as needed to increase function and rid the body of unwanted substances. Our modalities are designed to artificially replicate or motivate these processes in the body. With that, we cannot predict where the body will decide to do its work, but we do have confidence in our ability to target the whole body implying we have a great effect on any symptom or system.

As is custom with Lyme patients and Lyme treatments, Herxing is possible. However, we see very little in comparison to many other treatment options due to our ability to move carnage and die-off so effectively and efficiently. The Orchestra of Modalities at Life Health Centers is unique in that it offers specific combinations and sequencing for higher potential, truly making it an art as well as science, which increases the intensity and power. We look to detox symptoms as a great sign we are moving in the right direction.

Absolutely! We are proud of the success we see due to Whole-Body Hyperthermia to allow massive impact on biofilms stored in the blood and tissues—including the brain. In addition, we utilize specific catalyzing nutrients to help break biofilms down and eliminate it.

As MTHFR inhibits one’s ability to detox, our treatments are a great resource for those suffering. Mimicking very powerful detox capability, the G-Force and Health Pod allow those with MTHFR to not only restore some function but may even eliminate the issue altogether.

Lyme Disease patients have faced an ongoing battle over the past four decades, as the disease struggles to be legitimized in the eyes of the mainstream medical community. Fortunately, the tide seems to be turning, and in 2018, Lyme is more visible than ever before.

It’s no longer thought of as solely a North-eastern American disease but is now accepted to be a worldwide problem, with reported cases on every continent and every state in the U.S.

Although there are still grey areas surrounding the acceptance of the chronic form of Lyme disease in some medical circles, when it comes to facing the problem of Lyme head-on, the future looks optimistic. With this increased visibility, patients and medical professionals are starting to ask the hard questions about the contraction and transmission of the disease. One of the recurring issues is whether Lyme can be carried over from mother to child in the womb.

Most people associate Lyme disease with ticks, and rightly so. Deer ticks are the sole carriers of the disease in North America, while sheep ticks perform the same function in Europe. So most people correctly assume you can be infected from a tick bite; what they severely underestimate is the number of ticks that are out there.

It’s surprisingly easy to get bitten by an offending tick, and even easier to not notice the bite. With an estimated one in three ticks carrying the offending Lyme strain of bacteria, Borrelia burgdorferi, Lyme disease is an extremely threatening problem, and one that is only increasing as global warming continues to affect the earth.

Lyme disease cannot be transmitted from person to person; you can’t contract Lyme from touching, being close to, or breathing the same air as an infected person. That is not how the offending bacteria work. Unlike other viruses, they can’t migrate to another person through the air, water, or food. Although it might seem like Lyme is contagious because of the initial flu-like symptoms it presents, there have been no reported cases of Lyme disease being contracted from contact or close proximity to a patient.

Cases of Lyme in the same family can almost always be chalked up to shared environmental factors. But when it comes to the case of an unborn child in the womb, the situation becomes a little more complicated.

This is a controversial area, as many public health authorities in the U.S. claim that there is no risk of the bacteria being transmitted from mother to fetus. However, many Lyme experts have seen repeated evidence that gestational transmission is occurring in a worrying number of cases. Some doctors estimate the risk of a mother already diagnosed with Lyme Disease transmitting the infection at 20%. However, if a pregnant woman contracts Lyme disease while carrying, that number shoots up to a minimum of 60%, as the disease is in its bacteria-dominated acute stage.

This is just another instance of Lyme experts disagreeing with the pronouncements of other health officials. The history of the disease is littered with these cases, and even now, forty-odd years after Lyme was first discovered, the two camps still don’t see eye-to-eye on many issues.

However, scientists and experts have long suspected that the Lyme-causing Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria can be transmitted in the womb, as it shares the characteristics of many other ‘spirochetes’ (a family of bacteria to which Borrelia belongs), which are confirmed to be womb-transferrable.

Lyme disease is primarily transmitted by ticks; that much most people know. The link between the words ‘Lyme’ and ‘ticks’ is cemented in the public consciousness, so much so that in 2018, many will instinctively conjure images of ticks when they hear or read something concerning Lyme disease. This is certainly progress. The enigmatic disease was only discovered a mere 43 years ago, although it has been around for centuries.

Since its discovery in the town of Old Lyme, Connecticut, the disease has had a hard time being taken seriously or at least being considered as the debilitating threat it undoubtedly is. Now that Lyme is finally becoming more visible in the mainstream medical community, patients and doctors alike are looking at ways it can be transmitted. One of the areas up for discussion is the possibility of sexual transmission.

Many severe and extreme conditions can be transmitted sexually, and everyone is aware of the dangers of prominent STDs like AIDS, HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, and herpes. But could Lyme disease also join the line-up of threats? It was previously thought that any type of human-to-human Lyme transmission was impossible, and only specific types of tick could spread the disease.

Borrelia burgdorferi is the bacteria responsible for causing Lyme; it’s carried by deer ticks in North America and sheep ticks in Europe. It is estimated that as many as one in three ticks are contaminated with Borrelia, making the likelihood of catching Lyme in tick-populated areas quite high. Many people dismiss Lyme disease as they believe it’s easy to tell if you’ve been bitten by a tick or not. However, it is not altogether straightforward.

Ticks will often seek out sheltered or hard-to-reach places on the human body before biting, and their saliva is laced with a paralytic agent that further minimizes the risk of detection.

The appearance of a distinctive bullseye rash is one of the most concrete indicators of Lyme disease, although it can be quite hard to spot, and never appears in the first place in a minority of cases. This rash is accompanied by flu-like symptoms as the disease spreads in its acute stage.

When these symptoms subside, the bacteria settle into the body, and the condition mutates into its chronic stage, which is notoriously hard to both diagnose and treat and remains a point of contention between Lyme experts and other medical professionals. If the offending bacteria remain in a person’s system for many years, then it’s logical to assume that they can potentially transmit Lyme disease to their sexual partner(s) at any point during the prolonged infection. Therefore, it’s crucial to know if and how this type of transmission is possible.

According to the CDC (the Centres of Disease Control and Prevention), the case is crystal clear: their website officially states that ‘there is no credible scientific evidence that Lyme disease is spread through sexual contact’, going so far as to say that ‘the biology of the Lyme disease spirochete is not compatible with this route of exposure’.

However, the CDC hasn’t got a great track history of Lyme Disease expertise. Their position on the chronic form of Lyme is still a grey area at best, and their website also states that, in relation to the transmission of Lyme disease from mother to child during pregnancy, ‘no negative effects on the fetus have been found’. In fact, the transmission of Lyme during pregnancy is well-documented by Lyme experts and researchers, and although it’s a rare scenario, it is still possible.

From a study conducted by Marianne Middelveen and Dr. Ray Stricker in 2014, which confirmed the presence of Borrelia burgdorferi in the genital secretions of Lyme-positive heterosexual couples. In one case, a couple was found to secrete an identical strain of Lyme spirochete in their separate samples, strongly indicating that the bacteria can be transmitted through unprotected sex. However, the study conducted is far too small to be of any diagnostic use; although the findings are interesting and alarming, more research and studies need to be conducted to produce a concrete answer.

In theory, certainly, sexual transmission of Lyme disease is possible. The corkscrew-shaped Lyme spirochete shares many traits with Treponema pallidum, the microbe that causes syphilis. The latter is well-versed in the sexual transmission pathway and has honed the method to near perfection. Borrelia has repeatedly been shown to be both opportunistic and insidious in the way it infects and survives in its host; it follows that if the opportunity for a new method of infection arose, it would almost certainly take it.

As Lyme disease becomes more visible all over the world, it is important to remember that we know startlingly little about it, in comparison to other disorders. As such, it is crucial that meticulous study and tests continue, so we can rule out certain methods of transmission, or devise new ways to fight them.

As Lyme disease finally enters the public consciousness after years of being a vastly misunderstood fringe condition, new questions and concerns are arising from patients and doctors alike.

There’s still a vast amount of misinformation out there about the disease; this is compounded by the fact that many doctors across the world are not fully Lyme-literate, and in most cases, a specialist needs to be called in to fully determine a potential case of Lyme.

By and large, the acute form of Lyme disease is widely accepted by medical professionals – but this is the easy form to spot, as it usually comes accompanied by a distinctive rash. The chronic form is vastly more difficult to diagnose and treat. After a long, hard treatment road, many patients ask the question: can I catch Lyme disease more than once?

This is a more complex question than it might first appear. The short answer is no, but the long answer is yes. Before we break it down, it’s important to understand exactly how Lyme disease is contracted.

Most people correctly associate the disease with ticks, but it’s only a specific type of ticks that carry the offending bacteria strain. They are the deer tick (or black-legged tick) in North America and the sheep tick in Europe. Not all ticks are infected with Lyme bacteria (Borrelia burgdorferi), but it’s estimated that one in three ticks are, so the chances of infection are quite high.

Also, while it’s been suggested in the past that the tick must be attached to its host for over 24 hours to allow for the risk of transmission, recent studies (like this one conducted by the Institut Pasteur in France) conclude that transmission can routinely occur within 24 hours.

If you live or walk around heavily tick-populated areas, the risk of catching Lyme disease is actually quite high. The condition can be easy to treat if caught in the acute stages; the symptoms present as flu-like, and are often eradicated by a round or two of antibiotics. However, if the infection persists and mutates to its chronic stage, it can be much harder to detect and treat.

The symptoms of Lyme Disease are much more informed by the immune system response at this stage, and often include muscle and joint pain, irrepressible fatigue, headaches, and neurological symptoms. Treatment is long and hard, and once you get out the other side, it can be tempting to assume you are immune from any further infections.

However, Lyme disease doesn’t operate like this. The short answer to the question ‘can I catch Lyme more than once?’ is undoubted ‘yes’. All it requires is to be bitten by another tick carrying the disease. The same process will repeat, with the acute form presenting a rash and flu-like symptoms, before the slow degeneration into the debilitating chronic phase.

After battling Lyme once, a patient might be much warier of tick-infested areas and tick bites in general; this higher alertness may well reduce their chances of re-contracting. But logically and medically, it’s entirely possible to catch Lyme more than once.

However, like most things relating to Lyme, this question is more complex than it first appears. A 2012 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine reported on a number of patients who had been infected a number of times with Lyme.

The point of this experiment was to ascertain whether repeat infections were a result of new strains, or simply relapses of the original infection (a common occurrence with chronic Lyme). It was concluded that all but one of the 17 patients surveyed were infected by new strains, not one recurrent one.

Building on this study, researchers conducted a new experiment in 2014, using the original data, this time to see if there was any kind of immunity derived from Lyme infection. The study was subsequently published in the Infection and Immunity journal and concluded that statistically, it would be nearly impossible to arrive at the results of the first experiment if some kind of immunity was not present.

For the second stage of the study, data from over 200 participants confirmed Lyme disease was used to parameterize the model to provide a wider range. The final conclusion from the simulation was that immunity to a specific strain of Lyme lasts in the region of six to nine years.

While this may sound encouraging, it’s certainly no cause for celebration. There are at least 16 strains of Lyme thought to infect humans in the United States, making it incredibly likely that you can catch the disease again if bitten by another tick.

Malicious co-infections can sometimes be as dangerous and debilitating as Lyme itself and are also carried by ticks. As ever, it’s best to assume nothing when it comes to Lyme disease; we still know comparatively little about the disorder, and though we are keen to learn, it will still be a few years before we fully get to grips with the intricacies of the condition.
